About BharatYudh
A map-first battle study desk
BharatYudh connects chronology, geography, political powers, commanders, outcomes, and exam relevance. The atlas currently prioritises battles that recur in UPSC, judiciary, and other competitive-exam history syllabi.
Editorial method
Dates, participants, and outcomes are cross-checked before publication. Where historians dispute a result—as at Haldighati, Chillianwala, or Koregaon—the record says so instead of forcing a simple winner. UPSC relevance and the decisiveness visualization are editorial study aids, not official exam statistics, troop ratios, or casualty estimates.
Sources and further reading
The study records are synthesised from standard historical scholarship, with chronology and context checked against the following starting references:
- NCERT history textbooks, including Themes in Indian History and Our Pasts.
- Indian Culture Portal, Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
- Encyclopaedia Britannica: History of India for cross-checking names, chronology, and campaign context.
- Standard survey works by Satish Chandra for medieval India and Bipan Chandra for modern India.
This is an educational reference, not an official UPSC publication. Source coverage will become more granular as individual records are reviewed.
Corrections
